Hare Krishna Everyone,
it has been about 2 months since we have officially started the worship of Their Lordships Sri Sri Gaura Nitai. They have mercifully agreed to reside with us in the city centre and we have been praying for Their association. Now that They have come we need to look after Them. We have seven brahmanas present to regularly perform Their worship, but most of these devotees have full-time services as well. One is our temple president, another our sankirtana leader and yet another our head chef of the cafe. The full schedule of Their worship, the services which we require your assistance with and the expenses which need to be covered are all listed below.
Sri Sri Gaura Nitai have come to give us the opportunity to serve Them so that we may become purified and develop our attraction for Them. One does not have to be brahminically initiated to be able to render service to Them. There are so many different ways in which They can be served and They are waiting to see all of you eagerly participate so They can wonderfully bestow Their blessings upon you.
Nothing in this world works without money and manpower. So we are completely dependent on your assistance and on Sri Sri Gaura Nitai to inspire you from within to help. That is the transcendental system – take care of Krishna and He will take care of you.
The Daily Schedule:
5:00am – Mangalarati
7:00am – Deity Greeting and Guru puja (except for Sunday 7:30am)

Here are some of the services in which everyone can take part:
*Weekly polishing of brass and silver
*Daily sweeping and mopping of the temple room
To help with these services please contact Bhaktin Katrien on 07722706173. We are looking for devotees who are able to commit to taking on these services regularly. You can begin taking up your eternal service today.
*Daily making of garlands
*Weekly making of vases for the altar
*Picking up flowers from the Bessamer Rd Flower Market which closes at 8am Mon-Fri, 7:30am Sat and is closed on Sunday.
To help with these services please contact Bhaktin Megan on 07841638021. We don’t always need to go to the flower market, but this is especially required for festival days.
These are the most important regular services in which you can help. Occasionally there may be other services, especially when we are observing festivities. To help out for these occasions, we can put you on a list and contact you when you can render some valuable service. There is also a perpetual opportunity for service in our kitchen between 6am and 6pm every day. Cutting fruits for the breakfast offering, preparation for breakfast, cafe & programme prasadam as well as the most purifying washing of the dishes. To help in the kitchen please contact Radhikesa Prabhu on 07595899583.
“O best of the brahmanas, many men have laid down their lives on the battlefield, being unafraid of fighting, but rarely has one gotten the chance to give his accumulated wealth faithfully to the Lord through a saintly person who creates holy places.” (SB 8.20.9)
Here is the breakdown of the expenses for Sri Sri Gaura Nitai:
*£50 weekly for flowers to make garlands
*£50 weekly for flowers to make vases
*£50 weekly for flowers for arati and decoration
*£70 weekly for breakfast and evening bhoga fruit and sweet
*£30 weekly for Monday Raja Bhoga & Incense
This only the regular bhoga and arati requirements, which already amount to an extra expenditure approximately £1000 per month. Besides this we have already spent over £5000 on the beautiful altar, the brass & silver arati paraphenalia, Their Lordships clothes and jewellery, vases, a curtain, etc. So far we only have one backdrop and we would like to commission some paintings from Mayapur as well.
So you can help by giving some of your time, through financial support by becoming a patron and providing unwavering steadiness to the service of Their Lordships or by giving a lump sum to cover the expenses already made. If you would like to offer some seva by becoming a donor, please contact Tarakanatha Prabhu on 07967636485.
