Cardiff Ratha Yatra 2018: Festival of Chariots

Hare Krishna Everyone,

This year is the 13th anniversary of our annual Ratha Yatra: Festival of Chariots in Cardiff. We will celebrate the occasion on Saturday 4th August. Ratha Yatra is a most ancient spiritual festival, originating in Jagannath Puri, India. It was first brought to the West by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1967 at San Francisco.

This spiritual and cultural festival is now being celebrated in over 500 cities all over the world. The event will include a large procession through the city centre and a festival with drama, music, yoga, dance, meditation, indian mini market and a vegetarian feast in Bute Park. All of this is entirely free of charge!

The procession starts at King Edward VII Avenue (near National Museum) at 12 noon. The festival will be in Bute Park (by the Bute Park Cafe) between 2 pm and 5 pm.
